Thought to be the earliest pub in Ripon, located on Bedern Bank. David Castle (Landlord) his wife and daughter (Ethel, aged 16) stand outside. A banner to the side advertises 'Hepworth's, Ripon Ales'. The Kings Arms was finally demolished in the late 1950s as part of the Council's road widening scheme.
