Date: c1920

Saddletree making was a major industry in Ripon and here Mr Christopher Benson fulfills the last order. Hargraves saddletree makers was a family business run at the time of the photo by the third generation of the family William Hargrave. The premises were located at 80 Bondgate which was the focus of the saddletree industry in Ripon and the business functioned also as a timber merchant.
