Bondgate Millenary Celebrations

The picture shows the south end of Bondgate decorated to celebrate the Millenary in 1886. The white building on the left behind the low wall in Bondgate Hall. All the other cottages have long since been demolished. The bow window on the far right of the photographis the shop once owned by Eugene Aram, the murderer (his name appears in the Average Rents Award previously stored in the strong room of the Town Hall); the three people in the middle distance on the right (two women in white blouses and a man in a dark suit) are named Robinson and they ran a milk round.
