Ripon Sword Dancers

Date: c1900

A group of mummers performing the Ripon Sword Dance outside the Magdalens Hotel on the corner of Princess Road and Stonebridgegate. The annual dance, traditionally taking place on Boxing Day, has been performed throughout the streets of the city for over two hundred years, re-enacting the story of St George and Beelzebub.
