Dr Moody receiving Freedom of the City

Dr Moody left, receiving with the Freedom of the City document from Mayor Francis Charles Lowley . To the right of the Mayor is councillor Mrs Oakley, the Mayoress. Dr Moody was the organist and choirmaster at Ripon Cathedral from 1902-1954 and was given the Freedom of the City in 1952. The ceremony took place in the Lawrence Ballroom, situated on the Market Place.
