Date: 1962

Jim Gott (1897- 1980) was a local character and highly respected local artist who specialised in intricately detailed drawings. Jim Gott spent most of his life working as a postman, except for a brief spell in the army. He had no formal art training and was self-taught and must have passed on his natural talent to his son Kelvin who studied at The Slade School of Fine Art in London.
