Elephants and camels from a visting circus are bathing in the River Ure, underneath the old railway bridge. The bridge was demolished in 1972 following the closure of the railway line in the late 1960's as part of the Beeching cuts. The bridge was eventually replaced and became part of the Ripon Bypass which was opened in 1996 by the Duchess of kent.
